Today, while in the midst a conversation, the Lord called to my remembrance some powerful testimonies of Ephesians 3:20. From the Amplified Bible: "Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams]- To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it)."
I added verse 21 because I do give God all the glory for what I am about to write. Some of you know that my son, Zach, has been in a boarding school for the past year. I've been through the valley of the shadow of death with that child, and God gave him a second chance at life through these two boarding schools. In December, at the Banqueting House, I asked for prayer about an "exit plan" the school wanted me to write. God answered that prayer above and beyond what I could even dare to ask by impressing on my heart to bring him home before his 18th birthday. In January, I asked for prayer about the "90 day notice" that the school required. I was very concerned about being charged for 3 months of tuition because it is very costly and I did not have the money. Not only did I not have to pay three months tuition, but I got a refund of the tuition I had paid for the month and was only charged $300.00. God has repeatedly answered above and beyond what I dared to ask for in prayer.
Now, I am not saying that God is Santa and we can ask for whatever we want. But, in this situation I believe God wanted to show me how Powerful and Almighty He is. He knew this entire situation has been an exercise of faith for me. He knew that almost all of the last 4 years with my son have been lived out in blind faith. He knew I did many things I did not understand all because I put my faith in God.
My friends, you can put your trust in God. His promises are true. I have not always been happy, or comfortable, but I have been following God to the best of my ability. He sees my heart and He knows my weaknesses. He provides the strength and courage that I need to put my faith in Him. I encourage you to know your God. Know His promises. Read about His faithfulness in the Bible. Let these stories of faith cause your own faith to rise up. And know that God CAN do above all we can dare to ask for or think!
